Being An Ambassador for 2012

This year of being an ambassador has been really fun. A real highlight was learning to build my confidence and talk properly. I loved meeting many important people like the mayor. I wish I could go back and be an ambassador for school in 2013.


















The most favorite part was going to our away games to AUT, and MIT. Our last one was really fun because we got dinner at the hall. I wish that I could be an ambassador again. Thanks Mrs Burt.

Funniest moment of camp

Netbook Reflection 2012

This year a netbook has really helped me because I had a choice of choosing different topics whenever. Although this has been fun it has been challenging to because many of your netbook problems you had to try and fix it yourself. I really liked taking it home to do extra work so on fridays I do not have to catch up.

A great thing about my netbook is that you have the best of both worlds. A real highlight for me was how learning changes when you use your netbook. It is easier to show your work to your teachers because you can use your docs and share it with your teacher. Maybe we could add a cover to make our netbook not break so easily.

Sometimes netbooks can be challenging to fix because If you want to change your themes sometimes the theme you have chosen is too big to see everything. The Hinges on the netbook are too weak which means your netbook could break faster. It takes long to turn on the netbook. Maybe we could add a bigger screen so you don't scroll down to see stuff instead of it making it fit.

Overall I have really enjoyed this year with our netbooks. I would like to thank Mrs Telea for helping me with my netbook issues and also the rest of the maniakalani trust for getting us netbooks. I can't wait for next year to use my netbook again.

Asembly

Today at assembly we were talking about how we are doing very great with our work. Because lately we have had visitors come to our school. And this wednesday we won an award for maniakalani and Neven went to wellington on behalf of our school.

I was very happy when we found out about the good news. I like assembly because you get awards from our principal Mr Burt.

Alien

One day I was doing free time then I found a website could alien.com and then suddenly something weird happened. Something weird happened some kind of ugly monster at our school. But It was not just some kind of monster it is a alien. oh no what happened!




The alien looked ugly but it was harmless. it was so nice. But it could not speak. Later on it looked very hungry. So we tried to feed it Mc Donald's but he would not eat it.




Finally we found out what to feed him he wanted worms for lunch. Then we played rugby with him. It was hard because he kept on bumping off each other.




Sadly he had to go back to his website.

Two Weird Dudes

Two suckers from China were going to cross the road because across there was there base. They kept on talking to each other. One of them said that they were going to come first he said. They were very happy that day. Then they came down to the hill.
When both of them said WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO. Until they came crashing down together tripping up together at the same time. they fell on there head first. The rest of them came coming laughing at each other.

No they tried to jump back up but it was to late. Sadly the jumped over the car and sadly came fourth.

Nek time make sure to look before you cross. If you do not I WILL SMASH YOU!

“Dude I wonder where we are ” I said. This is wild we don't know where we are. Oh no we're going to be eaten from a witch. We were meant to be going to party somewhere until we were lost. Now we're in a bush where we can't get out of this bush it’s hopeless. But legends say that this Bush has been cursed and now we can't get out.

We now are walking down the street a bit more until SUDDENLY. POOF It sounded like a bad experiment go wrong! “AHHHHHHH” My friend said. Then a big shadow was coming our way until Bang we were knocked out cold. “Welcome”,” whose there” I said in pain. Your at my lovely house she said. I had a feeling that this is not going to be good.


Quickly I jumped hitting my head,who are you” I am the ugly witch who are you. I'm Mordecai. Why did you curse this Bush park. You want to know she said that it was because she had no friends. So we decided To be her friend and she can get a makeover so locals at our town will like her.

Now she has a lot friends and is very kind. And the Bush is opened again. Guess what else happened she made the bush a museum.

The Day my Toy Came Alive

One stormy night I decided to go and get my bear until he magically came alive. "What is this?" I said in terror. "My name is Wluffy Winks," the bear said. I could not believe my eyes! Was this going to be the day my toy came alive?

MUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMM! "What?" she demanded! "My toy is alive!" I yelled. I think she thought I was nuts. As I strolled through the lounge I jumped up as there he was eating the Ice Cream. "WHY ARE YOU ALIVE?" I said. "I want to be free," he replied.

I then wanted to make the most of playing with him before my parents woke up. So then we played video games and watched tv. We also wrestled but I lost. Then the sun was just about to rise and he turned back into an ordinary toy.


I cant wait till I see him again at night time!

Holidays

Guess what I did in the holidays I went to Rainbows End it was very fun because we got to go on every ride. I went with my cousins to Rainbows end. The very first ride I went on was the gold rush. It was very fun when you take a photo my cousins bought our photo. Everyone was scared when we went on it. I was having the best day ever.

I really enjoyed it. It was very fun lets just hope that we can next holidays.

Madden 2012

Trying to juke a bit I get from my cousin why you. Guess what I was doing during the holidays playing Madden 2012 (NFL football). My cousin think he is the man at this game. But I think I am! My favorite player is Michael Oher he is a very good tackler for the ravens. Maybe you guys should play this game it is very cool also because you can make your own team.

The first time I ever heard about NFL was the first time time I ever played Madden.

Michael Jordan

Have you ever heard of NBA's greatest Michael Jordan? For people who do not know Michael Jordan this is the story for you. Michael was born on February the 17th, 1963. He played in the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. He was born in New York, Brooklyn. He inspires me because he never gives up even if he loses. I think that he would have been a good sport when he played. That's why he won all of those trophies and medals. You never know, maybe one day Michael Jordan could be the coach of the Chicago Bulls!

NBA 2k12

Have you heard of the game NBA 2k12. This is a fun game for you to play. There a good players in the game. My favourite player in NBA 2k12 is Scott pipen and Wilt Chamberlain. You guys should play this game because it is fun when you nothing to do.

Worlds Biggest Sneeze

HAA Chooo a big fat sneeze comes out oh no my parents to Japan again Oh no. I have this problem with sneezing it is so big that it makes people fly into space and different countries to. I want to try and stop my problem with having the Biggest sneeze ever.

My Dad says that his great great great grandad had the biggest sneeze in the world so he says. So I probably got it from him. My doctor quit his job because of me. At school my friends always bring spare clothes because I always sneeze. haaaaaa choooo aw mann my favourite book!

Oh no another day at the Doctors my doctor said that just maybe I could cover my nose with some toilet paper. Guess what it has been working for the last week.

Finally I can see my parents more often instead of them staying at china.

54 Year Old Camera

Have you seen a 54 year old Kodak Camera? My auntie got an old camera from one of her clients.The name for it is Kodak sterling 2 camera, the camera is very different to our new cameras. It has this button to open this little box which has this lens in it to take photos.

I need film for it so I can take photos. I want to see how long I can keep it and probably sell it.

Olympic Event : Basketball

Playing Basketball is very simple. 
All you have to do is try to shoot the ball into your opposition's hoop. 
The team with the most points will win. 

To play basketball you will need; very good shoes to help you jump higher and baggy clothes that will allow you to stretch out your body to shoot. 

The techniques you need to have to play basketball are being tall to jump high and good accuracy. 

Basketball was born at the 1904 Olympics at Saint Louis. But over the many years since then basketball has changed. 

Jesse Owens

Guess who my favorite athlete is? Jesse Owens, I like him because his heart for playing at the 1936 Belgium Olympics. Hitler was attending the games when hitler saw Jesse owens owning the race. He wanted the blonde hair men to win but Jesse Owens beat them. Jesse owens also won in long jump to.

Jesse had won the 100m, 200m 4X100 relay and long jump. Soon after, hitler honored Jesse owens. He inspires me for going to the olympics where he was surrounded with germans.

Jesse Owens made a new friend who was german. He beat him in long jump and sprinting. He sadly died 1980 in march 31st in tucson Arizona.

Jesse owens is legendary and I hope that he did his best at the 1936 Belgium Olympics.

Olympic Closing

Sadly the Olympics came to an end. Did you like the Olympics? I did! Many people achieved their goals and won a medal and some didn't. I LOVED watching the Olympics and them holding their medals up.

Early this morning I watched some of the Olympic closing it was kind of better than the opening because it had better singers and because they did not have to go through every countries flags.

I hope all the best for the athletes and that they may do better in four years time.

Paint balling

During My Holiday I went to go paint balling I went with some of my friends. It was so cool,I wanted to quickly get my gun and shoot them. While waiting to go I got so bored I fell asleep. Finally we got there. We were waiting for at least 5 minutes. Until it was time for action WOO HOO.

"Who to shoot" I said with a blink of and eye I quickly saw brother I quickly shot him "NO!" he said I shoot him right in the neck. Tears forming as my brother continued to play. I was laughing at him so hard I almost cried.

Paint balling was nearly finished I had to make this last shoot and i'll make our team would win. I was walking around as was about to give up, just before I was about to I saw my Freind trying to sneak up on his big brother squash I shot him and look like it was painful.

I really liked paint balling and wish you could do it  in the holidays to

Batman

During the weekends I went to watch the dark knight rises it was pretty cool. It was about how batman returns back to be batman again and do his duties. We watched it in the XTREME SCREEN. I couldn't even wait to get to see the screen.

Waiting for the movie to finish I was quickly falling asleep guess how long the movie was two hours!
The movie went on I was falling asleep until batman tried to save there world he finally died "WO HOOO" I said with joy. As it went on sadly he lived.

Immersion assembly

Waiting for the second bell it finally rang "yay" I yelled with joy. I quickly tried to run in line to go to immersion assembly. It's a new term and were learning about Olympics. I was trying to go my fastest to the hall. "OH MY GOSH" all the teachers were dressed up I couldn't believe what I saw. Finally all the classes were there. It was time for immersion assembly to begin.

Team 1 started their item. They were my favorite item because they showed a cool movie of two famous Olympians. One was a very famous high jumper and the other a sprinter. One of  there names is Dick Qwax and the other Yvonne Williams. They were also interviewed by Mrs George a teacher at our school.

I can't wait to learn more about the olympics and the history behind the olympic games. I also can't wait for the amazing athletes to show their abilities on the world stage.

Best Highlight For Term 2

Term 2 has almost come to and end this is one of my favorite highlights of term 2. This was my best highlight Rugby League because we had at least 6 games and we got to make new friends.

We also had a chance to make it to the Auckland champs and go to Mt smart stadium and play .

sadly we didn't make it we came 3rd, but the under 45 came 1st. Term 2 has been real fun and cant wait till next term.

Rocky and Jabez Day and Night

Healthy food present

step 1 Preheat oven to 180ºC. Cook pasta following packet directions, adding broccoli in the last 2 minutes of cooking time. Drain well.

Preheat oven to 180ºC. Cook pasta following packet directions, adding broccoli in the last 2 minutes of cooking time. Drain well., heat a large non-stick pan over a medium-high heat. Add onion and bacon. Cook,, for 5-6 minutes, or until bacon is slightly crisp. Add mushrooms and capsicum. Cook for 3-4 more minutes, or until mushrooms are golden. Add pesto and tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add evaporated milk. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 2 more minutes.

step 3 Add drained pasta and broccoli to sauce and toss. Transfer to a lightly-oiled 2L/8 cup-capacity ovenproof baking dish and sprinkle with cheese. Place in preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden. Serve with a green salad.

Jonathan Thurston

Jonathan Thurston is a well known player. He plays for the North Queensland Cowboys. Jonathan is really good at his position halfback. His beautiful kicking and passes make and impact. Recently Jonathan has made himself on the top by having 53 tries and 410 goals for the Cowboys.

Jonathan has been playing for Queensland for some time making meters look easy. He played 21 games for queensland. He also played for Aussie too. Jonathan Thurston is legendary and im looking forward to his game for Queensland.

Rocky's Swimming Movie

For the last two weeks we have being swimming down at the GI pools. We had two instructors to help us with our basic swimming moves. Here is a movie to show you what it was like.

Art Alive

This term we are learning about Art Alive. To introduce us to Art Alive we watched some Picasso artwork and some 3D sidewalk art. Also we had a chance to draw Fatu Fe'u art and Indian ink it. My one was created by myself. We then colored it with pastels. It  looks really cool!

This term has been real fun because I really like art. In our class room we have pictures of Vincent van goh, scream the artwork and many more. I am really excited about this term!

Swimming is the best!

“Yay swimming” I said with excitement because we were going to the pools. We instantly walked down to the Glen innes pools to learn how to swim. Also we had instructors to help us with the basics. Robert my friend is in my group. I quickly got changed into my togs and and shot down to the showers. I was pushing and shoving my way through just to have a shower!

Finally it was swimming time. Our instructor was helping my friends and I was really excited. We learnt a lot of basics. Swimming across each of the lanes was more fun. Also having breathing competitions. I wonder what will happen today?

Ninjas In Paris

During my holiday I watched ninjas in paris. Ninjas in paris is a really funny animated movie. They moved to paris to start a new life they end up in a weird town and try to escape from the weird town. they also have a enemy could evil dog ray. Evil dog ray was a dog that bit there buts and this time he is in the weird town ready to rumble in paris!

is 3d. We gave a go of trying to make it. After that we tried pouring water in our paper cups. I was very
nervous thinking will the water go straight through the paper. I was lucky enough that it didn't make a

During my schooldays I played street fighter on my playstation 3. I was so angry at my brother because he was continuing to knock me out well I approached to hit him. I choose ken to use he was one of the strongest ones. in the game. My brother had misty face while I was cheering for myself.

After that I played Tony hawks project 8 I was Paul rodriguez he is pro skater I was beating my friend he was losing against me in a trick attack to see who could get the most points.

As I begged my mum to hurry up and lets go to the car boot and garage, my mum replied back saying "hold on". I was so not waiting. Finally my mum said come on lets go I was so excited to go. I wonder what was in store for me. When I got there I wondered what to buy what to buy. My mom in the other hand was eyeing up these rotis.

The Invasion of Ice-cream comets

As the Ice cream comets were going to attack someone warned them, they started screaming.As captain Rocky was going to school he heard people screaming of the ice cream comets especially Jabez ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Jabez screamed. Captain Rocky took off his uniform and laughed at Jabez what a baby captain rocky said to Jabez.

I had to save Jabez if not he would of peed his pants. Captain rocky got his giant spoon and held it up as it got closer and closer it finally reached the ground splat! it when all over the planet. So Mr S called this planet Ice cream world.

Pirate Story

I strolled through my enormous pirate ship as everyone was scared of me,I am captain Rocky. I have big guns with boxing gear on I have a legal stolen parrot from the zoo. Also I have a giant ship that has rocket boost.

I am famous for taking money from other. I am the man.

As I was nervously was waiting for Mr Brown to arrive lady carter came "oh no" I said in my head. More people arrived as I got more scared and scared,I had to present to Mr Brown. They finally the room I was hoping he will like the presentation.

Dr Ben Carson

Going to Telstra Stadium as Dr Ben Carson walked up the stage I couldn't believe I was going to really see him. He had started to introduce himself. He was saying that he was a doctor for kids' brains. First he was telling us about his life. He was very poor as a kid and is now a surgeon and very wealthy.

While Ben Carson was growing up he became a very violent person and he almost killed a man using a knife and even nearly killed his mum. He was a very dumb boy but by grade 7 he was on top.

He is now successful in his job and is still working. His wife and him are working on a project for all our schools to have a scholarship.

Ambassadors 2012

The last few weeks of school I have being expecting something from Mrs Burt to tell me if got the job of being a Ambassador. My teacher told me that I was going to join the Ambassador crew. I was eagerly awaiting to be told if I made it. I cant wait to do more stuff with the crew and present this coming Tuesday!

Best of X games

During my boring holiday I was clicking through the channels I decided to watch best of X games.

Rob derdek bailed on the rail and did not get any points. While the add had finished pj lad

was up he went down the ramp and landed a body flip I was surprised that he landed a body flip.

"I was starting to like this" I said. after that I decided to finish watching it. Imagine if Tony Hawks was still skating in the X games!

All about me

Hi, my name is Rocky! My hobbies are playing outside, especially playing with my long board. My other favorite hobbie is playing PS3. The best ps3 game I have ever played is NRL 2010. The person I look up to is my Dad because he always helps me. My favourite tv program is Franklin.

I live near Pt England school so I have to walk to school. This year I'm in Room 16. My close friends are Jabez, Shayne, Isaia, Wyatt and Levi. My favorite subject in school is reading. My worst subject is writing.

Willy the wizard is my best story I have ever read before. In the future I would love to travel around the world one day. The best movie that I like is Captain America because he turns into a muscular man and becomes a hero.
